Applications

PAC is the preferred coagulant for mining and industrial water treatment:

  • Coagulation and flocculation in mine wastewater treatment
  • Removal of suspended solids and turbidity from tailings water
  • Treatment of acid mine drainage (AMD) before discharge
  • Sludge dewatering and thickening in mineral processing
  • Process water recycling in concentrator plants
  • Industrial wastewater treatment for heavy metal removal

Advantages in Mining Applications

Performance Benefits

  • Lower dosage requirement compared to traditional coagulants
  • Fast floc formation with large, dense flocs that settle quickly
  • Effective over a wide pH range (5.0 - 9.0)
  • Minimal sludge generation compared to aluminum sulfate
  • Works effectively in low-temperature water conditions

Handling & Storage

  • Store in a cool, dry area away from moisture
  • Keep containers sealed to prevent caking (powder form)
  • Prepare solution at 5-10% concentration before dosing
  • Shelf life: 12 months (powder) / 6 months (liquid)
  • Wear protective gloves and goggles when handling
