Safety & Handling

Storage

Store in a dry, well-ventilated area away from moisture
Keep away from acids, metals (aluminum, zinc, tin) and organic materials
Containers must be kept tightly sealed to prevent absorption of CO₂ and moisture
Shelf life: 24 months from production date (when properly stored)

Precautions

Strongly corrosive — causes severe burns to skin and eyes
Wear chemical-resistant gloves, face shield and protective clothing
Always add caustic soda to water (never water to caustic soda) — heat generation
